There are some very cool things on the sites in Thing 4. The free technology site was pretty good. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out a way for me to subscribe to the whole thing so maybe it's intended for us to read and take notes on. Somehow that doesn't sound likely. Maybe I have to play around with it and figure out how to subscribe to it.

It was cool to see other teachers' blogs. I loved the one that had funny student/teacher stories because we could all relate to it. Being a novice at this I found the blog called 33 Ways to Use Blogs a good one because it gave me some good ideas on how to set up my own. I'll start with basics, like class notes and news, then hopefully move on to some form of "interactive" blog.

The article for Thing 1 was not up and readable. The video was worthy although I would have loved to have been in the planning meeting of the creative department who created the video! The aim of the video was surely to make us believe that without technology the teaching profession would be hopelessly lost. I'm not too sure. While I plan to use whatever is relevant to me (in the way of technology), I also believe that kids need to be exposed and need to learn how important it is to communicate the old fashioned way...by speaking to one another!

What an ordeal! Not as easy as it looks...I followed the link and got lost. Then Michael came over to help me and he got lost! Finally he figured out what my problem was but I have not clue how he fixed it! Would I have been able to figure this out? No way! Patience is not my best virtue.
